Brief Bio

- Born in 1972

- Grew up in Sebec, Maine

- Graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1990

- Graduated from University of Maine, Orono in 1994, B.A. in English Literature

- Traveled for 10 years living in Bangor, Alaska, Arizona and places in between

   Professional highlights 1994 - 2004

  • Park Ranger, National Park Service, Dinosaur Nat'l Monument 1996
  • Deposit Operations, Bangor Savings Bank, 1997
  • I.T./Marketing Director, Museum Reproductions, Boston, MA 1998 - 1999
  • Executive Assistant, United Way of Buffalo and Erie County 2000 - 2001
  • Executive Assistant, Optical Insights, Santa Fe, NM, 2002 - 2003 

- Married Teresa Murphy in 1998

- Moved home to Sebec in 2004

- Daughter Alice born 2006

- During the past 16 years of his professional life in Piscataquis

  • Part of the team that organized the first Piscataquis River Festival in Guilford
  • Helped develop the Southern Piscataquis Regional Recreation Map and Guide
  • Grew Center Theatre from a startup to $300,000 annual budget
  • Partnered with the town of Dover-Foxcroft to designate the town as a "Preserve America Community" resulting in increased grant funding for numerous organizations. 
  • Founded the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival
  • Worked with local farmers to start the first farmer's market in Dover-Foxcroft which has grown into the Dover-Cove Farmer's Market
  • Brought together individuals and organizations county-wide to work on the issue of access to healthy foods. The project eventually became the Piscataquis Regional Food Center. 
  • Founded Jack Does That a regional hour exchange 
  • Started Laughing Falls Farm in Sebec
  • Worked with the board of  Central Hall Commons, the town of Dover-Foxcroft, and the Dover-Foxcroft Historical Society to renovate and re-open Central Hall as a multi-generational resource for the entire county. 
  • Wrote grants and proposals funding over $2 million in projects and programs to benefit Piscataquis
  • Worked with countless businesses and organizations around the county to improve their financial well-being and the quality of life in the community.
